18U AAA players Baker, Isenberg play in NAHL games
Longtime Anaheim Jr. Ducks players Luke Baker and Kyle Isenberg each played multiple games for the North Iowa Bulls of the North American Hockey League in late December.
Both are members of the 18U AAA team this season, and the duo took advantage of the holiday break to get a head start on their junior hockey careers.
Baker had an assist in three games, while Isenberg played in two games. Both are affiliate players of the Bulls.
Baker is the 18U team's top scorer entering February with 56 points, including 24 goals, through 42 games.
"Luke is really fast with the puck," 18U AAA coach August Aiken said. "His breakaway speed is his biggest strong point. He's skilled, he can make plays to teammates, and he can score in tight.
"He is learning to become a 200-foot player this season, and it was big for him to get some junior games."
Isenberg also has a scorer's flair, with 40 points (seven goals) through 43 games at 18U.
"Kyle is a great kid," Aiken said. "He's our captain, and every player on the team cast their vote for him, which tells you about how respected he is. The biggest thing with him is he has a great attitude. He comes to practice every day ready to work.
"He has a great shot from the point and is very deceptive with his release. Defensively he is very hard to play against."
Both are drawing plenty of attention from Division I schools, and it is quite possible both will join the Bulls after the completion of their Jr. Ducks season.
